I was born in Pittsburgh.
My father was in sales in the steel industry. His father an architect. I’m proud to think of myself as a by-product of the booming American Steel Industry - and the resulting rust belt. I spent the later half of my life in the midwest, with strong roots in Indianapolis. I studied journalism at Ball State University (’92), with particular emphasis on advertising, computer graphic design, and marketing.
After college, I completed two internships, both in advertising agencies. McCaffrey & McCall and Montgomery Zuckerman & Davis. The knowledge and experiences gained during this time were exactly the catalyst I needed to launch my career. Times, however, were bit different in 1993. The economy was in recession, and the advertising industry was downsizing. The creative side of advertising was slowly migrating toward the digital tools we commonly employ today. Apple computer was commanding the desktop revolution. I moved to Chicago, bought my first Mac and dove head first into my geeky and creative passions.
In May of 1995, I moved back to Indianapolis to work for McCaffrey & McCall. From that point forward, I’ve carved a name for myself as a conceptual thinker, a talented designer, and an inspired creative. When I’m not sitting in front of the computer, I’m re-learning everything I thought I knew through the eyes of my kids. I also volunteer a lot of time toward special art events and creating opportunities for artists and creative self-expression. I believe we need less TV, and much more art.
